About the ambulance
The radiology department (USG) at the Polyclinic Váš Lekár provides diagnostic examinations using ultrasound (sonography).. Ultrasound examination allows imaging of soft tissues and internal organs, and is used mainly in the diagnosis of diseases of the abdominal organs, thyroid gland, soft tissues or vascular system. It is a safe, non-invasive and painless examination without the use of ionizing radiation.
The clinic performs abdominal ultrasound, liver elastography, thyroid, soft tissue and vascular examinations (Doppler examination). as indicated by the doctor. The examination allows for a quick and accurate assessment of the health condition and helps in determining the diagnosis or further monitoring of the disease.
The ultrasound examination itself takes place in an environment with an emphasis on professional assessment of the patient’s health condition, patient comfort, and diagnostic accuracy.
The advantages of the workplace include modern equipment, fast diagnostics, and good accessibility (Eurovea 2, Staré Mesto, Bratislava).
The examination is performed based on a request from a doctor, or without one (more details below).

Elastography of the liver
Modern ultrasound (US) examinations of the liver allow accurate and non-invasive assessment of the tissue, including steatosis, fibrosis and liver stiffness. The examinations are quick, painless and also suitable for monitoring the effectiveness of treatment or lifestyle changes.
SWEI - liver stiffness measurement
- It is used to measure the stiffness and elasticity of liver tissue.
- It reveals diffuse changes, steatosis or fibrotic changes of the liver.
- This results in a fibrosis grade from F1 to F4 ( grade F4 indicates cirrhosis of the liver).
The examination is useful for early diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression.
UGAP - quantification of fat in the liver
- The Ultrasound Guided Attenuation Parameter allows accurate quantitative assessment of the amount of fat in the liver.
- It provides a numerical value, thanks to which it is possible to objectively determine the degree of steatosis.
Repeated measurements allow you to monitor changes and effectiveness of treatment or lifestyle modifications.

How to reach us
Váš Lekár Clinic can be found on the ground floor of the Eurovea 2 building. You have a choice of two inputs. The first entrance is located in the small square in front of the main entrance to Eurovea 2, next to the Eurovea Tower – on the left. The clinic can also be reached via the entrance from the promenade towards the Apollo Bridge – from the Danube. Parking is available in the Eurovea shopping center or at the Slovak National Theatre. - Patients from 18 years of age.
- Patients visiting our clinic for the first time are kindly requested to arrive approximately 10 – 15 minutes before the examination in order to register at the client centre. You must present your insurance card or ID card (or other proof of identity) when registering.

An ultrasound (ultrasonography), often referred to as a sono, is an imaging method using ultrasonic waves. It is used to examination of soft tissues and organs, for example, the abdomen, thyroid gland, breasts, blood vessels or musculoskeletal system. The examination is non-invasive and does not expose the body to ionizing radiation.
The workplace has a contract with the health insurance company Union and Dôvera. Its insured persons with a claim do not pay for the examination. In other cases, the prices of the procedures are governed by the current price list, or they are part of your annual membership.
You can have an ultrasound examination with us, with or without a doctor’s request.
Yes. Preventive Breast ultrasound is especially suitable for younger women or those at increased risk of breast disease.
Yes. We also implement Doppler ultrasound examination of blood vessels, which allows you to assess blood flow and the condition of arteries or veins.
The examination itself usually takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the extent and type of area being examined.
In most cases, the result of the examination is available immediately after its completion, but no later than within a few hours in the form of a medical report.

We provide referrals and contacts to other medical facilities and specialists for our clients. If you have purchased from us annual membership, our client center will take care of communication with the examination provider. We will keep you informed about the date and location of the examination.
You can reschedule or cancel simply through our ordering system (if you have registered and purchased your appointment directly through the portal) or by phone on +421 940 40 90 70.
Please keep us informed change or cancellation at least 24 hours before the scheduled examination. In case of late cancellation or no-show without apology, we reserve the right to charge the full cancellation fee.

Under current legislation, an exchange ticket is required for most specialisations. You can find precise information on where it is required in the section “Additional information” for each outpatient clinic.
Please first make an appointment with your GP, who will issue an exchange ticket to a specialist if necessary (except in specialties where one is not required). If you have a medical card at our general practice, you can arrange everything under one roof with us – from the examination to the exchange ticket.

The healthcare agreement is signed by the client and the doctor, who will also explain the procedure to the client. Subsequently, the nurse will arrange for the request and transfer of the medical documentation from the previous doctor to us at the Váš Lekár Polyclinic and the general practitioner’s outpatient clinic.
However, this is not possible until six months after the last Health Care Agreement has been signed with the current GP or gynaecologist. Once your medical records have been received, our nurse will contact you to arrange an initial check-up.
Capitalized clients
A capitated client is one who has a signed Health Care Agreement with a general practitioner or gynaecologist and is in possession of medical records. This client is entitled to complete health care, including a statutory preventive check-up, which is covered by public health insurance.
Uncapitated clients are not eligible for reimbursement of this exam by the health insurance company. The agreement is signed for a minimum of six months, after which time it is possible to switch to another doctor, including a gynecologist. If you have signed this agreement, your general practitioner and gynaecologist are your primary doctors in the area.
