About the ambulance
Ophthalmology at the Váš Lekár Polyclinic focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the eye and the visual system. The ophthalmology clinic provides specialized examinations for conditions such as impaired vision, eye pain, redness, dry eye syndrome, conjunctivitis, or problems with visual acuity. The goal is the early diagnosis of eye diseases and the establishment of appropriate treatment to protect and preserve vision.
The examination includes a comprehensive ophthalmological eye exam, including measurement of visual acuity, examination of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, and measurement of intraocular pressure. The clinic specializes in the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, retinal diseases, and degenerative eye diseases.
Patients are treated in the outpatient clinic by MUDr. Petra Šarišská, FEBO , a specialist in the field of ophthalmology, who focuses on the precise diagnosis of eye diseases and a personalized approach to each patient.
The ophthalmological examination itself takes place in an environment that emphasizes professional assessment of the patient’s health, patient comfort, and clear communication during the examination.

How to reach us
Váš Lekár Clinic can be found on the ground floor of the Eurovea 2 building. You have a choice of two inputs. The first entrance is located in the small square in front of the main entrance to Eurovea 2, next to the Eurovea Tower – on the left. The clinic can also be reached via the entrance from the promenade towards the Apollo Bridge – from the Danube. Parking is available in the Eurovea shopping center or at the Slovak National Theatre. - Patients visiting our clinic for the first time are kindly requested to arrive approximately 10 – 15 minutes before the examination in order to register at the client centre. You must present your insurance card or ID card (or other proof of identity) when registering. It is necessary to bring an exchange slip (referral, or doctor’s report) from the GP, or. another specialist.

Regular checkups help detect diseases early, such as glaucoma or cataracts, when treatment is most effective. For children, it is recommended that have their first eye exam around age 3–4, followed by checkups every 1–2 years or as recommended by a pediatrician or ophthalmologist. Adults should undergo a preventive eye exam every 2 years, or more frequently if they wear glasses, have health problems, or are at risk for eye diseases (e.g., diabetic retinopathy).
Yes. A comprehensive eye exam includes measurement of diopters and intraocular pressure, which is important for diagnosing glaucoma.

We provide referrals and contacts to other medical facilities and specialists for our clients. If you have purchased from us annual membership, our client center will take care of communication with the examination provider. We will keep you informed about the date and location of the examination.
You can reschedule or cancel simply through our ordering system (if you have registered and purchased your appointment directly through the portal) or by phone on +421 940 40 90 70.
Please keep us informed change or cancellation at least 24 hours before the scheduled examination. In case of late cancellation or no-show without apology, we reserve the right to charge the full cancellation fee.

Under current legislation, an exchange ticket is required for most specialisations. You can find precise information on where it is required in the section “Additional information” for each outpatient clinic.
Please first make an appointment with your GP, who will issue an exchange ticket to a specialist if necessary (except in specialties where one is not required). If you have a medical card at our general practice, you can arrange everything under one roof with us – from the examination to the exchange ticket.

The healthcare agreement is signed by the client and the doctor, who will also explain the procedure to the client. Subsequently, the nurse will arrange for the request and transfer of the medical documentation from the previous doctor to us at the Váš Lekár Polyclinic and the general practitioner’s outpatient clinic.
However, this is not possible until six months after the last Health Care Agreement has been signed with the current GP or gynaecologist. Once your medical records have been received, our nurse will contact you to arrange an initial check-up.
Capitalized clients
A capitated client is one who has a signed Health Care Agreement with a general practitioner or gynaecologist and is in possession of medical records. This client is entitled to complete health care, including a statutory preventive check-up, which is covered by public health insurance.
Uncapitated clients are not eligible for reimbursement of this exam by the health insurance company. The agreement is signed for a minimum of six months, after which time it is possible to switch to another doctor, including a gynecologist. If you have signed this agreement, your general practitioner and gynaecologist are your primary doctors in the area.
