When to have a preventive mole examination?
Moles should be checked annually as part of preventive health care. Melanoma is one of the most malignant tumours because of its ability to metastasize rapidly. It can arise from a pre-existing mole on the skin on any part of the body. “Regular preventive examination of moles by a dermatologist is very important. Melanoma is fully curable in the early stages of tumour growth,” says dermatovenerologist MUDr. Ľudmila Lipková, whom you can meet in our dermatovenerology outpatient clinic
Since moles form most during the summer, it is recommended to leave their examination for the autumn and winter months. “In the summer period, our skin is most exposed to sunlight, which accelerates the formation of new moles, but also changes in existing ones,” adds MUDr. Lipkova.
Skin care for all ages
Clients with various other problems also come to the Dermatovenerology and Aesthetic Dermatology outpatient clinic. Young people mostly deal with acne. For many of them, problematic skin also affects their psyche, so they are looking for an effective solution to help them. One of the treatments that can help in this case is, for example, the non-invasive Hydrabeauty machine treatment with microdermabrasion, acid solutions and LED therapy.
Machine skin treatments are often sought after by clients who are beginning to notice the first signs of aging. They notice that the skin is losing elasticity or is not sufficiently hydrated. They, too, can benefit from a hydrating and lifting treatment with the Hydrabeauty electroporation device, which lifts the skin using electrical pulses.
Other biorevitalizing treatments are also suitable for its rejuvenation and relaxation. One of them, for example, is IPL photorejuvenation, which uses intense pulsed light. The collagen fibres are disrupted by the heat, which stimulates the regeneration process of skin cells and the formation of new collagen fibres. Thanks to the low doses of light energy, this procedure is gentle on the skin.
Mesotherapy is also popular. It is an almost painless non-invasive machine treatment in which a mixture of vitamins, peptides and amino acids is injected through microneedles to a maximum depth of 1.6 mm. “I wouldalso recommend this procedure after the summer, when the skin is more dehydrated due to sun exposure,” recommends Dr Lipkova.
Aesthetic dermatology doesn’t just deal with the skin
A special category are clients who are troubled by hair loss. Emerging corners and hair loss affect the quality of life, especially in men. Mesotherapy can help with this too. In this case, hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin to stimulate hair growth.
The opposite is the case for people who want to remove hair on different parts of the body. Laser hair removal is suitable for them. Intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment will also help with the removal of pigment spots or cracked blood vessels.

Summer skin care
Which skin treatments would Dr. Lipková, as an experienced dermatovenerologist, recommend to undergo during the summer?
“For example, botulinum toxin treatments are suitable for reducing facial wrinkles, which are deepened and accentuated due to more frequent frowning and squinting. Botulinum toxin application is also a suitable solution for excessive sweating. It is a procedure suitable for men and is very popular with athletes. Its effect lasts approximately 9 months. Among the instrumental treatments, microneedle radiofrequency is ideal, which gently tightens the skin and reduces pores. A great advantage is that after the treatment does not limit the client in normal daily activities and sunbathing is not a problem.”
