Underestimating prevention can mean unnecessary damage to the musculoskeletal system<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

The physiotherapy-rehabilitation outpatient clinic focuses on comprehensive care, with its primary objectives being the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders. Rehabilitation plays a key role in the restoration of health in acute as well as chronic diseases – or post-traumatic and post-surgical conditions. “At the very beginning, the patient is examined by a rehabilitation physician who, based on the history taken and a comprehensive rehabilitation examination, draws up an individual rehabilitation programme. This is preceded by careful consideration of the indications and contraindications. With an individual rehabilitation programme, the patient then goes to a physiotherapist who administers physical therapy as prescribed<\/em>,” explains MUDr. Krist\u00edna Botl\u00f3 Ku\u010derov\u00e1, rehabilitation physician at V\u00e1\u0161 Lek\u00e1r Polyclinic. As part of physical therapy, clients can undergo electrotherapy, ultrasound, as well as magnetotherapy and laser therapy.<\/p>\n\n

Within the premises of the newly opened Bratislava private polyclinic, which focuses on extending the active age of its clients, there is a wide range of doctors, which allows for excellent interdisciplinary cooperation of specialists. “Due to the express appointments in the polyclinic, patients with acute musculoskeletal pain, which has not yet managed to pass into a chronic state, come to us most often. After completing the rehabilitation examination, clients can start their rehabilitation programme within the next few days<\/em>,” adds the rehabilitation doctor. All four agree that the cervical and lumbar spine are currently giving people the most problems; athletes come in with knee, hip and shoulder pain.<\/p>\n\n

With rehabilitation and physiotherapy, time is needed. “If a doctor prescribes 5 or 10 sessions for a patient, he knows why he is doing it. It goes without saying that the client may not feel relief after the first meeting<\/em>,” add the physiotherapists. During the sessions, the physiotherapist sets up a series of specific exercises for the patient, designed to relax and strengthen the affected muscle groups. She studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava. After graduation, she worked at the Specialized Hospital for Orthopaedic Prosthetics in Bratislava, where she worked as a rehabilitation doctor. She has treated a wide range of patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, as well as patients after surgery and trauma. However, the uniqueness and uniqueness of this department lies in the comprehensive care of amputees.<\/p>\n\n

In 2019, she passed the certification exam in the specialty of Physiotherapy, Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation, and is currently preparing for another certification exam in the specialty of Acupuncture in order to broaden her range of opportunities to help patients.<\/p>\n\n
